September. Autumn.

September. Autumn.

In a blink of an eye, September is here, and with it comes my favourite season of the year, Autumn.

While we don’t have the crisp falling leaves or golden landscapes of Autumn at the equator, the season still finds its way here in little gestures: breezy dawns and dusks, or the occasional monsoon rain that cools the otherwise tropical air. These small hints remind us that the world is turning, and that Autumn has quietly arrived.

Raised in Hong Kong, Autumn always meant something more tangible to me, as typhoon season is finally over, and outdoor activities are welcoming us with open arms. Hikes up to the Peak and various lovely nature trails, barbecues with family and friends in the cool night air. That's perhaps what makes Autumn my favourite season of the year.

And so we celebrate this season also with its birth flowers peg dolls. September with the delicate Morning Glory, October with the vibrant Cosmo, and November with the lush Peony.

Each of them we hand-painted flowers and hand-stitched their tiny felt wings. Which colours would Autumn remind you of? For us that's shades of yellow with a hint of light pink. Hue of warmth with quiet sweetness, just what this season means to me…
